Last year we moved into our new home. There was some effort on my part to make the terrace green (I was thinking the hanging garden of Babel). After what felt like a lot of work and money, I ended up filling one tiny corner of it.

| Tomato, summer squash and cucumbers in their itsy bitsy containers. What was I thinking? The oregano ended burning in the sun. 12 hours straight sun was for some reason too much? |

| The lettuce did very well. The tomatoes, cucumber and summer squash were planted in way-too-small containers and kept drying out in the blazing sun. This will be rectified this year with much larger containers (50 and 60 cm wide). |
